£2k winner in last weeks lottery draw!

02 September 2019

Last weekend saw our first big lottery winner! Mr B won a massive £2,000 in the West Berkshire Lottery's 23rd draw, supporting The Mary Hare School for Deaf Children. Mr B explained why he chose to support the school in Newbury and what winning the money means to him.

He commented:

“This has come as a big surprise and glad to support a lottery that helps local charities.

I have a big birthday in December and we were already planning a party so this will go some way towards it. Mary Hare have a charity auction tonight so I may buy something at that.

Mary Hare is a fantastic school and does amazing work with the children. Current fundraising for the new Primary school will be an amazing asset when it is finished. I also like attending concerts at Arlington Arts which is a wonderful theatre.”

If you would like to find out more about The Mary Hare School for Deaf Children or would like to support them through their fundraising page: https://www.westberkshirelottery.co.uk/support/mary-hare-school-for-deaf-children

For every £1 ticket bought through their page, they will receive 50p with a further 10p going to the community fund which our 102 local good causes will be able to apply for at the end of the year.
