Local RDA sign up to raise funds to purchase a new pony for their group

24 April 2019

Since its launch in February, the West Berkshire Lottery looks set to raise over £58,000 for the 83 local good causes and charities who have signed up to raise funds through the lottery in its first year. Many of these offer invaluable support to the local community.

Lambourn RDA (Riding for the Disabled) are based at Manor Farm Stables in Chilton Foliat and are dedicated to enabling local disabled children and adults to ride horses. Horse riding offers them opportunities for enjoyment, challenges, friendships, laughter, achievement, independence and confidence.

Lambourn RDA relies on the input and support of its volunteers – not just those who help with riding but also fundraisers, treasurers and administrators, or simply those who can help with a bit of DIY!

Richard Lardner, Trustee commented:

“Lambourn RDA are a very friendly group run entirely by volunteers, providing three riding sessions a week, during term time, for a wide range of people and abilities, both children and adults. We currently support 40 riders in our group.

We are currently looking to purchase a new RDA trained pony, so monies raised via the West Berkshire lottery will go directly to this cause.”

Lambourn RDA is one of the many local good causes who have sign up to raise additional funds through the West Berkshire Lottery. 50% of all tickets sold through their page go directly to them. A further 10% of ticket sales go to the local community.

Are you a local good cause? You can still sign up to raise funds through the West Berkshire Lottery! Go to www.westberkshirelottery.co.uk/good-causes to find out more.
